After a fairly long dry spell rain fell heavily last night in Paeroa, with steady rain falling moist oil the morning.
The annual meeting of the Paeroa Golf Club will be held in the Soldiers’ Club to-morrow evening.
At Wellington to-morrow evening most of the Cabinet Minister will attend a showing of the local flax picture which was screened at the local theatre last Thursday.
As illustrative of what advertising in the “Hauraki Plains Gazette” accomplishes may be mentioned the fact that within half an hour of the publication of an advertisement in this paper announcing the offering of a local shop for sale, negotiations were commenced, and in the course of the afternoon the sale was satisfactorily concluded.
Station Road, Matamata, to a distance of 10.5 chains, has been declared a main highway.
