SOUTH AUCKLAND COMPETITION. i
PAEROA MEMBERS COMPETE.
During Easter week-end six members of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club visitt'd Wai hi to take, part in tbe 23rd annual meeting of the South Aiic.kRifle Association, and met with a fair amount of. success. There were between 50 and 60 members of rifle clubs present from all parts of the province,’, from as, far north as Whiuigarei, and a Wellington club was also represented. The weather conditions were by no means of tlie best, rain commencing while try. second match was in progress on the first, flay, and continuing fox - most of the day. The weather on the s.econd day wag better. Two of the Paeroa riflemen obtained prize-money places in the grand aggregate- Captain F. C- Hubbard, with 212 out of the possible 250, ajidl Rfm. A. A. Jenkinson, with 207. The top score was 225. Rfm. Jenkinson al-so gained a pcvilioii in the Tyro Aggregate. Of the Paeroa men the highest position in any oiiq match was obtained by Rfm. Jenkinson, who finished third in the first match at 200 yards with a score of 18 out of a, possible 50, and R. Wells finished 4th at 500 yards with 46.'
