EASTER. MONDAY MEETING. ARRANGEMENTS ADVANCED. Arrangements for the conduction, of the Kqrepeehi sports Association’s annual meeting on Easter Monday were advanced a furthfjr stage at a meeting of the executive committee bn Wednesday evening, Mr J. MThompson presiding. The secretary reported on thq num, her of entries so far received for the chopping and running evehta and was agreed to extend the date of closing until. Monday next, March 25, and to advertise the fact From the present indications thq number of entries appeared to be numerous. The .men appointed to canvass for advertisements for the official programme reported satisfactory results, but some districts had not yet beepi cpvered. Mr W. Thomson said that the Northern Steamship Co. had promised to lend a number of flags for decorating purposes.
Mr C. Pearce undertook to procure the blocks for the chopping events and cart the; timber required for the hurdles, etc, Mr W. Kidd offered to flag the course, and! Mr D. Shilton undertook to make for the grading of the track. The list of officials was set out as follows:—

Courtney, W. Chick, W- Green, and C. Pearce ; chief stewards Mr W. Shilton ; clerks of course, Messrs S- Nicholson and J. Hands; call steward, Mr W. Newman ; starters, Messrs J. A. Bennett (chops), L. Jarnos (horse events), and W. Thomson (foe* events) ; hon. surgeon, Dr. T. Miller; hon. veterinary surgeon, Mr J. Costello ; ticket box, Messrs c. Callendar 1 and H. D. Jamieson; car-parking stewards, Messrs P. G. Pearce; and SGarrett; gatekeepers, Messrs A- Mid* dleton, F. Chick, and J. Barton; ticket sellers, Messrs J. Hamil, R. L. Davies, and W. Chick; putting-the-shot steward, Mr H. Booth ; polevaulting stewards, Messrs W. Taylor and W. Chapman. Arrangements we.re made for a' refreshment booth, and for the dance in the evening, The Tur.ua Band offerto play selections during the day.
