CONTRACTS LET.
The Hauraki. Plains Drainage Beard me t at Ng.atea last night, Mi* C. W. Parfitt presiding oyer Messrs A. H. McClean, J. Motion, A. Douglas, T. A. McClean, the clerk (Air E. L Walton), and the foreman (Mr E. FlavelJ). The following contracts, were let:
Donaghy’s outlet, J. Lyes, 3s 4d; Apple Tree outlet,, j. Lyes, 3s 4d : Central drain, Pipiroa, .S c ott and Mangain ,4s; Pipiroa to Dalgety’s, J. Ivan, 3s 6d; .Settlers;’ drain, Fraser, 2s 9d ; Pouarua Road, east side, EPerkins, 3s; Hopai to Neate’s, R. Erceg, 2s 8d; Dalgety’s to Hopai, R Ejrccg, 2s, 8d ; Duck Creek, R. Erc.eg, 3s ; Hopai to Rawerawe, east sile, R. Erceg, 2s 8d; Rawerawe to Ngatea, J. Paich, 3s; Davidson’s, J. Gribble, I Rawerawe Canal Reserve, L. Ivan, 3s 9d; Orchard West, three contracts, Clark Bros., 3s 6d, 2s 10d, and 2s 2d ; Phillips’ Road, J. Gribble, 25,; factory to Paul’s, j. Gribble, 2s 9d; Puhanga Canal, east, C. Douglas, 4s ; Buddings, C. Douglas, 2s 9d. The contracts for French’s outlet, Aroha Street., Pipiroa, Dalgety’s to Pouarua Road, and Rawerawe Road were not let. ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £2l y-ere passed for payment, and the foreman was instructed to measure up as many works as possible to enable progress payments to be made before the end of the financial year so that, subsidy could be claimed. BY-LAWS. The Hauraki United Drainage Board wrote suggesting that the three drainage boards on the Plains should cooperate in producing a suitable set of by-laws. It was decided to be represented at the suggested conference, the chairman and clerk being deputed for the purpose. CULVERT NEEDED. The need for h. culvert under the main read to enable the water from Orchard West Road to reach Paul’s outlet was mentioned by Mr Douglas, who pointed out that the work woulfl be recommended for subsidy by the Lands Drainage Department. REPAIRS TO DRAIN. The cihairman was given authority to have repairs effected to the spiling of the Pipiroa township drain.
