MOTOR CAR CRASH.

COLLISION NEAR PAEROA. BOTH VEHICLES DAMAGED. A smash occurred near the abattoir yesterday morning. On a strfiigjit stretch of road, with the atmosphere slightly foggy at the time, Mr A. Hi*l, of t.he Shell oil Co., Ha.miton, was driving towards Waihi to attenu the funeral of his father there, when an oncoming service car belonging to the Waihi-Paeroa Transport Co, : ‘Ud driven by J. Mears, crashed into his cay.

It is alleged that the service car was travelling on t.he wrong si.ie of the road, only allowing, Mr Hill three feet of the highway. The, service car’s right lamp and mudguard were badly damaged a,nd the radiator bent in, but the occupants escaped injury. Mr Hill’s e.a,r, being the lighter one, was. considerably damaged, and Mr Hill suffered a very severe injury to the lejft knee, as well as cut* apd abrasions. He was able to attend his lather’s funeral, but afterwards was ordered to bed by a doctor for complete rest.
