PAEROA STOCK SALE.
MONDAY’S YARDING. SLIGHT DECREASE IN VALUES. There was an extra heavy yarding of cattle at the Paeroa Stock Sale on Mnoday, it being estimated that there were 500 more head than last month, making otne of the largest totals yet recorded. Owing to the dry weather many were frightened to buy, and thus values were not so good as last sale. However - , this decrease in values is general.
Cattle.—Best daily cows and heifers brought from £9 10s to £l2 10s, backward £8 to £9 ss, others £6 10s to £7 15s ; fat cows £8 to £9, others £6 10s to £7 15s; good forward cows £5 to £6 ss; bonens £3 10s to £3 5s ; bulls £4 to £lO 'ss, according to age and condition. A steady demand for good Jersey heifer calves was noticeable, prices ranging frOm £3 'ss to £5 3s. Sheep.—A small yarding of sheep brought 19s to 24s 6d for fat ewes, and from 16s to 19s 6d for store lambs. Pigs.—There was no demand for store pigs. Slips went at from 10s to 235, and weanerg 3s to 6s. A large number of. buyers attended, including many from Auckland whq bought quite a lot of cattle.
