LICENSING MATTERS.
FINAL MEETING IN OHiINEMURI.
A TRANSFER GRANTED.
The quarterly meeting of. the Ohiuemuri Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse, Paaroa, on Monday afternoon, therq being prjlfiont Messrs W. Marshall, W. J. Towers, P. E. Brena.n (Paeroa), and; W. M. Wallnutt (Waihi). In the .absence of the chairman, Mr F. W. Plattsi, S.M., Mr Towers presided.
The only application before the committee; was that of the permanent transfer of the Moryinsvilje Hotel from Thomas Anderson to' Charles Edwajrd Adams. Mr E. A. Poi;ritt appeared in support of the appl.icatios and Sergeant Calwejl for the police.
The police reports being favourable, anp there being no other objections, the application was granted. The chairman drew the attention of. t'h& police to the fact that the outside; lights of hotels were not kept go-, ing throughout the night, as required. Tlie meeting was the last of- the O.hinemuri Licensing Committee, which now ceases to function, as the district has bee;n. merged into that of Thames. The newly - elected Thames committee consists of; five members, who reside, respectively, in Thainqs, Coromandel, Ma.tatoki, Paer.oa, and Waihi. The chairman is the district magistrate for the time being, Mr F. W. Platts. The new committee will not, meqt until June next, the date of the annual meeting,
