DELAY IN WORK QUESTIONED; ANOTHER PROMISED START. At Thursday’s meeting of the Ohinemuri County .Council Cr. Robin-, son asked why .work on the Rotokohu rotyl was being gone on with in preference to the Hikutaia road. He understood that Die engineer had been instructed to commence; work on the latter road.

At the request of. the chairman Mr Shaw, t'he acting-engineer, explained that he ha,d continued working on the Rotokohu road, because he wanted to finish with the; use of the crusher there. The crusher at present was fitted with a large jaw suitable for metal on that road, whereas for the Hikutaia road a smaller jaw would have te. be fitted. The Hikutaia road would be put in hand on Monday thq •Ith Inst.
