THE RAINFALL.
RECORDING AT PAEROA. LOW TOTAL FOR THE MONTH. February was an exceptionally dry month this year in Paeroa. Slight showers oc,currr.ed on three days during the; period, registering .51 of an inch. The highest rpading was .45 on the 3rd, an# the lowest .002 on the 6 th.
VERY DRY MONTH ON PLAINS
Less than threeqiiarters of an inch of, i.ain fell on the Hauraki Plains d tiring last month. The gauge at the office of the Lands Drainage Department, Kerepeehi, showed) that rain fell on three days only, the amounts toeing as follows: For the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on the 2nd, .70; the 3rd, .02', and the 6th, .02. Except for January of last year, whqn there was only .01 of an inch, last month’s total was less than any month in the past seventeen years., with the exception of, three, and each of thqse was a- February. The average February fall for the last seventeen years was 2.70 inches.
