RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE PAEROA CLUB. LAST SATURDAY’S SCORING. ♦ At the local rifle rang,e last Saturday the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club continue# the second! round of the Club competitions. Shooting was carried out at the 300 and 600 yards ranges. Conditions were not favourable fplr good shooting, a changing wind, and a mirage cause# by the heat of the flay, preventing any high scoring. The results were as follows : F. ,C. Hubbard, 32 at SOO'ydS, 28 at 600yds, handicap 2, total 62; W. A. Reid, 29, 27 (4), 60 ; R. 24, 29 (5), 58 ; R. I. Roberts, 28, 24 (5), 57 ; A. A. Jenkinson, 26, 24 (&)', 55; B. Roberts, 24, 26 (5), 55.
To-morrow a trophy, presented by the Club, will be fir,ed for from the 500 and' 600 yards ranges. These scores will also count in the Club competitions, and all members are asked to be present.
