DOMAIN BOARD.
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT. The domain superintendent; Mr W. Hamilton, reported as follows to the ■meeting of the Paeroa-Borough Council last evening :—- “Since my la's.t quarterly reppirt I have; to state that c.wing to the phenomenal 'growth of grass, due to the exceptionally wet weather, my time hafe been mainly occupied in c.uU ting greens three times a week and mowing grass, and eve;n then it has bean hard to keep down growth. “I (have again to respectfully bring before you the question .of a motor mower, as I am unable; with the present machine to compete against greens which use; the motors. Under the circumstances I ia m doing my best, although this is not appreciated by the bowlers.
“ The following is a statement of the time; spent on the various parts of the domain during the past three months : Bowling, 226 hours ; croquet, 81 di hours ; general, 291 hours.”
