PLACING BOYS AND GIRLS.
A special department of junior placement in the State Department of Labour is urged in a letter sent by the Merchants’ Association to Governor Smith, says a Nejw York paper. The Governor is asked to make provision in his budget to be submitted to the next Legislature.
The special function o£ this department would be to. find; suitable; jobs for boys and girls, most of whom are attending either high schools or con-i tinuation schools.
“The introduction into, the business world of the boys and g.irls of New York State is a matter of major importance,” the letter read's. “These product? of our excellent educational system can only .contribute fully to social and economic progress when they become engaged in gainful occupat tops for which they can find the grpates.t opportunity for self-expres-sion and advancement.”
