TRAVELLING ON RAILWAYS. 12-TRIP 'AND 50-TRIP TICKETS. Many innovations ’have r,ecehtl: been introduced l by the Railway De partment, but possibly the onq tha has attained the greatest degree of popularity is tlhe ‘‘trip-bearer” tickets. These tickets a r e specially designed to meet the requirements of intermittent passengers travelling, between any two specified stations. They are available: for either 12 or 50' s.ingle,. journeys!, andi the cost in the; case of the forrnier is 2s 6d in the £, and! .the latter. 4s in the £, less than the ordinary fare. The tickets may be transferred firom one; person to ano.ther, and there is no restriction regarding the period of availability. Recent fig-, tires supplied by the Railway Department show that thejre a growing, demand Tor “trip-bearer” tickets, already amounting to over, 5000 a month.
