Lart month thq Stratford Egg Circle received 3440 dozen eggs—an increase of. 700 dozen on the figures for the same month of the previous year. That there were a number, of cases of maggo.ts and bio,wflies in sheep on the coastal district wasf mentioned recently by -Mr P. Haugh, Government veterinary 's.urgeon; of Gisborne (says the Poverty Bay Herald). He stated that while no very serious cases came under his notice, the trouble, encouraged by the damp, muggy weather, was widespread l in some parts, and even the wool had been infested with maggots.
