An Old and Well-known Established Business.
FLATT’S EMPORIUM, For many years Mr. Flatt has made special efforts, at the Christmas Season to cater, for the people of Paeroa and surrounding district. Twelve years ago his efforts were devoted to giving, Price, Service, and Quality, and each succeeding year this has been improved upon, until now, from this year’s big and attractive display it is easily recognised that this firm is still to the fore in its efforts to please the people. In conversation with Mr Flatt we learned that prices were never so low as they are to-d.iy, and in most lines the quality has improved. One of the first things to attract the eye in this spacious emporium is the fine display of fancy boxes of stationary, local views, Christmas stationery, cards' and the large range of calendars. The fancy-.bbxed stationery is in great demand. Further on is a splendid range of English crystalware,, containing, articles in all sizes and at different prices. This line is coming into favour, and is finding a ready s,ale; Turning to fiction, a special stand has been arranged to contain all the lates,t writings by popular authors, such as Zane Grey, Wren, Sabatini, Farnol, Wallace, Loc,ke, and many others. On the main counter and in two special glass c.ases are to be seen in grqct profusion ladies’ bags, xylonite mirrors and brushes, both white and pearl; manicure jets, scent sprays, collar boxes, wallets, shaving outfits, perfumes, tobacco pouches, pipes, brush sets, military brushes, torches, watches, rose bowls, fountain pens, silver and gold pencils, hand-t kerchief and glove boxes, and dozens of lines the prices of which will suit the pockets of one and all. A special range; of Royal Aller Vale chinaware is made very conspicuous by the attractive designs, anfi the prices, appear to be very moderate. Last, but not least, one’s attention is drawn to the vast array of toys of evety conceivable shape, design, and colour, and no matter where one turns, hanging from ejvery nook and corner can be seen mechanics, cars, buses, boats, donkeys, engine's., etc.; also dolls,, prams, teddy bears, teqsets, guns, stockings, block's,, carpenters’ tools, Meccano outfits, children’’ sewing and stencil o.utflts, and a hundred and one toys, for the kiddies. A dplendid stand full of all t.ie iat-, est reward and toy books, can be inspected, and the impression is made that it is impossible for the goods in this emporium not to. please the public. Mr Flatt states that this is the largest and cheapest range of toys, books, and fancy goods he has ever, displayed in Paeroa. As usual, a balloon is provided: for each child. In wishing all his customers a Merry Christmas, Mr Flatt fully appreciates the generpus support he has received in Paeroa during the last twelve years.
