MB/S. EMILY SMITH. There passpd away at her residence ■ vn Wednesday afternoon Emily, wife <of Dr. Gilbert Smith, of Paerpa, at the age of 74 years. The deceased lady was. born in England* and! landed in New ' Zealand in the yqar 1895, and for upwards of 30 years had been in Paeroa, where Dr. Smith haa been in constant practice. The late; Mrs Smith w as'a most indefatigable member of .St. Paul’s Anglican Church, and was, for ever striving to help every ci tuse that jwas calculated tq forward the church and its congregation. SI ie had been, ailinig for several years, b ut it was o>nly quite recently that sh e had been unable to get about. She leaves her husband andi two som s and one, daughter— Wilt son, of Whang.ar.ei, Mr H. EL Gilbert Smith, of Whangarei, and Mr. G. Smith, o' f Auckland.
