RESULTS OF COMPETITtGN. LOCAL SUCCESSES. The following pupils of the Paeroa District High Schqol were prize-win-ners in the ThamesrTe Aroha District Schools Handwriting Competition held under the auspices of the British and Colonial Industries Company :— Alison Barclay, Joan Otter. Doreen Abrahams, Vivian Nicholls, Rewa Dickson, Olga Vercoe, Betty Lewer, Lucy Piahana, George Campbell, Emma Wickliffe, Desma Shqrt, Alfred Williams. Lucy Piahana also won the first prize for, Standard 11. in A. Court and Sons’ writing competition.

June de Castro, in. supplying the best rhyme about Mt. Cqok, has won the district first prize, entitling her and a parent to a free return trip to Mt. Cook from Timaru and board at the Hermitage for a week.
