SWIMMING CLUB.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A meeting qf the committee off tne Paeroa Swimming Club was held on Monday night,, when 33 new members were elected, making the total membership approximately 150. Mr A. M> Samuel, M.P., wrote accepting the position of patron, and enclosed a cheque for £1 Is. It was decided to ask permission of the Borough Council to erec.t a club notice board in the porch at the entrance qf the baths.
In order, to create an interest in the club it was (Decided to hold seven handicap races during, the season for a points prize. The first will be held on the 11th inst., when the junior, members, bqth boys anl girls, will each have a 33 1-3 yard’s contest. The entries, which are free, felose on Thursday night. On December J. 3 the senior members will hold t'heir contests, the entris closing on December 11. Pqints to count will be 3 for first, 2 for second, a nd 1 for thirl.
