RIFLE SHOOTING.

THE PAEROA CLUB* F. C. HUBBARD’S TROPHY SHOOT. There was great activity bn the local rifle' range on Saturday, when members of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club met to shqot for Deputy-Presi-dent F. C. Hubbard’s trophv, and also for the first shoot tor. the Club Chaim pionship and the Club Handicap aggregates for the seasop. Shooting, was carried qut from the 200, 300, and 500 yards ranges for the trophy, but the scores from the 300 and 500 yards ranges only will c.ount in the club competitions. The trophy was won by Rifleman W. A. Reid, w'hq showed much-improved form, scoring 93 points, which, with his handicap of 10, made his total 103. Rifleman A. A.‘Jenkinson was runner r up with the same score off the rifle, but with a handicap of 7, making his total 100.

Next Saturday will be fired the second shoot for the club competitions at 300 and 600 yards ranges.
