THE RAINFALL.
GAUGING FOR NOVEMBER. THE PAEROA FIGURES. The rainfall for NOvemner, so far as Paeroa is concerned, as registered at the Public Works Department’s office, was -73 of an inch less than that recorded for the same period last year, the figures being 3.29 (1927) and 2-56 (1928). The tqtal to date for the year is 15 inches in excess of that of last year, the figures being 43.99 inches in 1927 and 58.99 tnis year. Rain fell on 11 day during last month, the heaviest fall being on the 26th, when .83 of an inch was recorded. HAURAKI PLAINS FIGURES* The rainfall for the month of November, as gauged at the Lands Drainage Department’s qftice, Kerepeehi, totalled 2.66 inches, with some rain falling on ten days. This is .84 of an inch above the average for November during the last sixteen years. The heaviest fall during the ■month was during the 24 hours ended at 8 a.m. on the 27th, when .93 of an inch was rec.qrded. The total for the year to dlate is 42.95 inches, whereas the average annual fall for the last fifteen years is but .17 of an inch more.
At the Kopuarahi School rain was recorded on seven days only, frnd the total was 1.86 inches.
