KEREPEEHI. VALEDICTORY. On Saturday evening employees of the Lands Drginage Department and residents of the district assqmbled at the residence of Mr J. Murdock to bid farewell tq Mr W. Shilton, who has taken up a farm near Huntly. Vocal items were contributed by Messrs J. Hands, C. Pearce, W. Price, W. Booth. C. Callander, and W. Shilton, arid a presenta-tioni of two travelling bags was made by Mr Mur,dock Qn behalf of these present, while Mr. J. M. Thompson welcomed Mr Shilton to the ranks of the farmers. Mr and Mrs W. Her,kt, who have left to take over a motiqn picture business at Te’ Puke, were the guests of the Kerepeehi Tennis Club at t'he residence of Mr and Mrs G-. Boswell on Monday evening. As a, token of remembrance of their seven!.yqars in Kerepeehi. Mr and Mrs Herkt were presented with a travelling rug. PLUNKET NURSE HONOURED. Ini common with the other Plains centres wherq there is a branch of the Plunket Soc.iety, Kerepeehi held! a social gathering of members to honour Nurse Perrin prior to her departure on promotion to the Karitane Hospital a,t Dunedin. The function took place at the residence qf Mr and Mrs J- Murdock last Friday afternoon, aiMl was well attended'. Mrs F. Rogers spoke of the appreciation of members for thq wqrk of Nurse Perrin, and on their behalf presented her with a gold clock.
