■ A proposal to ha,ve horse r,aces at Kerepeehi has been revived again, and following an enthusiastic meeting, last week it was decided to apply to the Minister, of Internal Affairs for permission to hold a picnic rpce meeting on the show grounds some time in February next. It is not intended that the races should rival thejse held by established racing clubs, but that farmers’ hacks should be more catered for.
Members of the; Waitakar.uru branch of the Plunket Society bade farewell to Nurse Perrin at a pleasant social afternoon in the Public Haji on Saturday last, there being a large attendance of mothers and babies. Afternoon tea wag provided, vocal items were rendered, and competitions were played. A presentation of a,n elqctric torch was made to the departing nurse by Mrs C. W.
