A fine record, of dairy production is shown for Hauraki. Plains ini the October report of the N.Z. C c r°perative Herd Testing Association, which embraces 67 groups containing 54,140 cows. The Shelly Beach group (Kopuarahi) ha£ the record for the; highest production of fat in any group with an average from its 203 cows of 38.151 b, while in the production of milk the Ngatea and Waitakaruru groups share the honour of second place in the 67 groups with 8961 b of milk in the 30-day perics.

The Ngatea group 'also did wQll, being beateji for the highest iherd average by a quarter, of a pound of fat. This herd of 45 cows produced an average of 50.351 b of fat. A Patetonga cow jvith a production for the month of 951 b fAt, divides with a Te .Rapa cow the honcjur of being second best cow in the. 54,140 tested by the association, being 61b below the outstanding animal.

Ngatea.—.Cows, 518 ; average lb of milk, 896 ; average test, 3.9; .fat, 35.711 b. Highest herd average, 45 cc ; ws, 50.351 b fat; highest cpw, 851 b fat.

Netherton. —Cows, 866 ; average; lb milk, 733 ; average test, 4.1; fat, 30.171 b. Highest; herd average, 29 cows with 43.481 b fat; highest cow, 711 b .fat. Patetonga.—Cows, 706 ; average lb milk, 759; a.vqrage test, 4.2; fat, 31.891 b. Highest herd 23 cows with 44.301 b fat; highest cow, 951 b fat.

Shelly Beach. —Cows, 203 ; average lb milk, 874 ; average test, 4.3; fat., 38.151 b. Highest herd average, 59 cows with 45.281 b ; highest cow, 671 b >fat.

Turua.—Cows, 362 ; average lb milk, 812; average tept, 4.2; fat, 34.321 b. Highest herd average, :13 co,ws with 47.841 b fat; highest c.ows, 851 b fat.
