PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Paeroa, was held on October 31.
The financial statement submitted by the treasurer, Mr A. Steedman, showed an improvement; in the general ac.oount of £BO and an expenditure of over. £l3OO for the year. A concrete church had been erected at Net.her.ton, an|fll that district had increased its contribution to the centre. Tir.ohia likewise had increased, - and £6O ha,d been contributed to qther objects, such as missions and orphanages. ' '
Encouraging and interesting reports were read on the various departmeujts of the; life and work of the church.
The, session report, read by Mr J. Mclntyre, showed an increase of 20 on the roll. Other reports were read •as follows : Manager’s, Mr Mclntyre ; envelope; system, Mr J. Findlay ; P.W. Missionary Union, Mrs Findlay ; Maori Mission 8.L., Mrs Slyfield; Treasurer’s, Mrs Mclntyre ; Ladies’ Guild and Social Committee, Mrs Slyfield; Sunday School, Mr Mclntyre ; Mrs Lowden’s Bible-class, Miss Lqis Slvfield ; Rev. J. Lowden’s boys’ Bible-class, Mr H. W. West; Young Womeji’s senior and junior Biblei-classes, Miss Rene Hamilton; Bible-class treasurer’s statement, Miss Grace Milroy. In a.ddition to.- the elders who hold office ex-officio, the following were elected to the management committee': Messrs C. Townshend, H._ WWest,’ A- Steedman, K. Slyfield, P. Mills, and Hutchinson, qf Paeroa: Crosby, Locke, Adams, , and Stembridge, of Netherton ; B. E. Veale, of Tirdhia, and West, of K’omata. The elders are, Messrs G. Buchanan, J. H. Mclntyre, E. V. Slyfield, J. Hamilton, G. Wilson, W. F. Johnstone, apd J. P. Findlay, of Paeroa ; Ritchie; of Karangahake; anld A. W. Bell, of Netherton.
Votes of thanks were, passed to the voluntary organists, choir, gleaners, and the Tir.ohia School Committee. It was decided to send a. letter to Mr and Mrs E'. W. Porritt expressing appreciation of the services they had rendered; in the past and the sense of loss experienced on their removing to another district;
The .minister thanked, all who had co-operated with him throughout the year.
