A small aeroplane passed over Paeroa at 2.30 P.m. on Monday, proceeding in the direction of Auckland.

The 34th anniversary of the wreck of the steamer Wairarapa. fell on Sunday. The; steamer, while on a voyage from Sydney to Auckland; went ashqre on Great Barrier Island about midnight on Sunday, Octfober 28, 1894,1 and 127 lives .were lost.
Mr T. H. McWilliams, wireless; operator of the Southern Cross on'its two flights across the Tasman, and the only New Zealander included in the crew, will leave Sydney tomorrow on his return to Wellington. It is presumed that McWilliams will take up his usual occuuation in Wellington.

Heavy fat cows sold at from £9 16s to £l4 ; fat heifers £8 to £9 2s 6d ; lighter fat cows £7 Ils tc : £9, killable cows £6 l'ss to £7 Bs, forwardconditioned cows £5 2s to £6 7s 6d, store cows £3 15s to £4 17s ; balls for service £8 to £lO 15s ; 15-months. Jersey heifers £5 and Jersey-Holstein cross £5 2s 6d; Jersey and Jerseycross dairy heifers, close to profit £lO to £lO ss, and backward cows £4 10s to £7 15s.

A bottle-collecting drive was commenced a.t Ngatea on Monday, with the purpose of raising, funds for the Swimming Club’s floating bath proposal, and about 500 bottles were located on the first day. Cream cartage. contractors have premised; to cart bottles to Ngatea.
