haubaki plains body. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The executive committee of the Hauraki Plains Farmers’ Veterinary Club met at Ngat,ea, on Tuesday evening, M, C. W. Schultz presiding over Messrs. Andrews, Martin, Phillips, McCarthy, and the secretary (Mr C. A. Gibson,). SURGEON’S REPORT. The veterinary surgeon (Mr J. Costello) reported in detail on the 131 visits made t,o t 64 members during the past month. MEMBERS Onq new member was accepted, bringing the total to 112. FINANCE. The secretary reported that financially the month had been a lean one. No money had' been received and there were accounts totalling £l2 3s 6d to be paid, leaving about £lO caith in 'hand. ’A payment, onj the cay whs due on the 16th insit, so it. was .necessary tc> collect sopie of the £368 outstanding for subscription's and drugs. The meeting decided to i.ette an appeal to those whose subscriptions were overdue. TWO FARMS. The question; qf ivhat subscription should be paid by a member, who qwned two o,r more farms was, discussed. At present, such a member is charged the same as a farmer with only a few cows. The question ha,d been discussed at several meetings, but, no solution could be arrived atNo decision was arrived at, and other business was introduced. TRANSPORTATION. On the motion of. Mr Ma,rt,in it was decided! that those members who refsided on unmetalled roads be asked to provide itransport for the surgeon when they require his services, and when the roads are impassable for a /:.ar.
