NETHERTON DRAINAGE.
ELECTION OF BOARD. RESULT OF POLL. Heavy polling but conisiderable plump voting took place at Nether.ton on Wednesday in the election of. five trustees for the newly constituted Netherton Drainage District. There were 91 names on the roll, and it is said tha,t well over 140 votes) were exercised. The result was as follows:— J. A. Reid, 104 ; 7. A- Chester, 82 ,' G; Buchanan, 78 ; F. T. V. jqhnson, 70 ; B. Halligan, 39'; H. E. Hill, 36 ; H. J. Hare, 27 ; E. Jamie,sOJ.n, 23 ; J. Wakeham, 22. Messrs Reid, Chester, Buchanan, Johnson, an,d Halligan were elected.
