DRAWBACKS IN PAEROA.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I ask far space in your valuable paper to draw attention to some very seriojus drawbacks to. the welfare and progress of our town. On Saturday last Paerca held a gala day, and quite a number of Tauranga residents made the journey through by train. Some; of these visitors came with the intention o,f 'S'hoppi.njg, as not all are football enthusiasts!’, apd great was their disappointment it.q find the shops closed at 12.30 for the weekly half-holiday. Tauranga. caters: much better for iits patrons hy keeping open,' all day Saturday, and the- shops reap a golden harvest bn gala days. Quite a number, of inquiries .were also made by lady visitors as to the whereabouts o.f the ladies’ rest room. This convenience—which is an absolute necessity now the railway station has been moved—they were informed) did net exist. Trusting our City Fathers will stir, themselves and remedy the above drawbacks to the welfare of our town. ONE WHO KNOWS.
