The Thames Valley primary school team, winners of the, Northern Roller Mills Shield, leaves Paeroa by the f.s. Taniwha this afternoon for a trap to Auckland, which has been provided through the, generosity of the public and- the Northern Steam Sh'n Co. The team will play a lifteen selected from the Auckland Primary Schools’ Rugby Union at the Domain at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning. The. present arrangements are that the local boys will return by steamer to-morrow night.

Another centenarian smoker; and this time a woman. A Home paper records the death at Messing, near Tiptree, Essex, of Mrs Naomi Harrington, at the age of one 'hundred years. The good old lady smoked a clay pipe every day, and attributed her long life, at any rate in part, to that practice. What the anti-tobaceoites will say to this must be left to conjecture, but a more convincing proof of the harmlesisness of tobacco could hardly be; found.
