Messrs J. Cqote, of Sydney, and G-. Griffiths and J. Pearce, - o f Auckland, ox-residents Ojf Paeroa, are visj.to.is tc the town. Visitors to Paeroa yesterday included Messris J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., president of the Assessment Court, J. C. Potts, ■ Government assessor, North Auckland Land District, apd 'W. F. Wallis, district valuer.
Mr. Sannftel H. O.sbo ( rn, o.f Dunedin, arrived in Pa.er.oa this morning. In the South Mr Osborn is well known as an exceptionally able exponent of the elocutionary art, and has adjudicated at many competition festivals throughout the Dominion. For many years past he lias been a prominent member of the Dunedi'n Shakespeare Club. His readings of such difficult parts as “Malvolio,” /,‘Petruehio,” “Leon.atOj” and “Duke of Clarence” have won- the highest praise of Prefer and critics. Mr Osborn will preside at the gathering of the Paeroa Orphans’ Club to-niqrrow evening.
