A POPULAR TEACHER.
MISS N. CUMBERWORTH. FAREWELL AT HIGH SCHOOL. Friday lapl was eagerly looked forward to by the pupils of the Paeroa District High School because at the termination of the 1 day’s work a fortnight’s holiday was looming ahe;a,d. Still, to the teaching staff, and also many of the pupils, last Friday afternoon meant the losing of a friend' ami a popular teacher in. the person qf Miss N. N. Cumberwokth, who has resigned on account of-hen approaching marriage, af'teir, ma.ny yeans’ service with the Education Department. In bidding au revoir to Miss Cumberworth Mr G. H. Taylor, headmaster. on behalf of the staff, presented Ijie-r, with a silver-mounted oak tray suitably inscribed. The pupils ojf her class also, presented her with a glass jug and dish, and a beautiful bouquet.
Miss Cumberworth has by her getnilal good na.ture endeared herself to the pupils under her care-, and aii;d pupils all joined in wishing her every happiness, good' health, ami prosperity during her married life.
