In some: cases farmers who have land Oin both sides of a public road have their cowshed At one end of tlie.ir property, qnd ate in Hie habit of driving- the'i.r cows to and from .the shed along the road. In some cases this causes damage, to the roads. According to a legal qpini'on submitted at the last meeting of the Waikato County Council, the farmer do,ing this is liable for .the damage dbne to the road, and the traffic of his cqws i,s regarded as extraordinary traffic. He should drive his cows on. hi!s own land qr, straight across the road. This opinion affects many farmers.
