OBITUARY.
MR. WILLIAM WILLIAMS.
Still another of Paeroa’s wellknown identities, in the person of Mr Williams, was removed by death on Sa,'tur,day morning. Deceased, who was more familiarly known as, “Striding Bill,” was born in England about 71 years ago. He came .te. New Zealand when quite a young nraji, and l for the last 30 -years live.d. in Paeroa. following the occupation of a general labourer. He had been in failing health for some time, and to those who had been attending him his death was not unexpected. So far as is known, deceased was a single: man and, had no relatives in the Do-, minion. He was an- adherent of the Church of England and took a, ke.en inteir.est in church matters!. Deceased was interred at the Pukerimu Cemetery, Paeroa. on Monday morning, tlie Rev. w. G. H. Weatlon performing the last solemn r.ites.
