THE THAMES VALLEY CLUB. DECISION TO CARRY ON. Formed in 1*421, the Thajneus: Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club, with headquarters at Paeroa, was a live institution for a number of years, and by mutual support and co-'operat’ion much good was done by its members. During the last 18 months, however, there* hWVb®en a falling-off in attendance. of members at meetings, although the Jersey breed has grown; in numbers and popularity in the district. On Saturday morning a meeting of i breeders wap held at Paeroa with a ( view to determining, the desirability of winding up the affairs of the club and allowing those who desired it to affiliate with the South Aucklanl Club at Hamilton. CLUB TO CONTINUE. * After reviewing the affairs of the club daring the last few months the president deplored the la.ck of interest tha.t had been taker.: by the majority of members. He pointed out that members had some of the finest Jersey cattle in tihe Dominion, and tnc .Shr" functioning of .a, club in their midst should prove to be of inestimable value. However, he would welcome an exF pression of opinion from those r present. In the* opinion of Mr Ha.ll a renewed effort should b® made to carry on. Apart from the loss members would sustain by windipg up the club, the Ha.uraki A- and P- Association wbuld be seriously handicapped withv out the- services and backing of the, club in the* pedigree Je ; rs e y sections. Jn the past the club had given*libel al- ■ w"ly towards the association’s' prize funds, a.ud a decision 'to disband would be a retrograde step.
