It is net generally known that the flying of flags on Governpient buildings in New Zealand is goverjned by definite rules, but such is the case. Following are' the; days on which flags are to be flown: New Year’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Monday, StGeorge’s Day, Anzac Day, Accession Day, Empire Day, King’s Birthday, Coronation, of His Majesty the King, Prince of*Wales’ Birthday, Dominion Day, Nelson Day, Labour Day, StAndrew’s Day, an,d Boxing Day. Flags may also be flown on the' anniversary day of the particular province in which the town is situated. Whenever any of the above days falls on a Sunday the flags ane to be flown on the following Monday, with the exception of An,zac Day. On Armistice Day, November 11, flags are to be flown half-mast for two-minutes onlj' at 11 a.m., when silence is being observed throughout the Empire.
