THE MOTOR REGULATIONS.
An extract from the regulation undei- the Motor. Vehicles; Act dealing with warning devices states : — “Every motor vehicle sha.ll be equipped with a warning device attached thereto, other than a siren or bell, and capable of emitting sound immediately when actiated and clearly audible under normal conditions for a distance of not. less than 300 ft No motor vehicle' shall be equipped With a sjire.n except (a) a motor veth’cle used by a fire brigade for attendance at fires ; (b) a motor vehicle used to collect milk or other produce from farm'ers in the' course of trade. No motor vehicle ot'her than an ambulance shall be equipped with a bell as a wanning device-. No person shall operate any motor vehicle having a warning device which is not in- good working order. No driver of any motor vehicle shall, except in. case of emergency, use on permit to be used a.ny warning device .with which such vehicle is equipped otherwise than ■for reasonable; traffic needs. No person shall actuate any warming device in such a manner as to produce a shrieking, raucous, or offensive noise. Every person driving a. motor vehicle on. any road shall, upon every occasion when.it i? proper and reasonable to give notice to traffic of the. approach or movements of- such vehicle, give such notice by actuating his warning device in a reasonably sufficient manner.
