POLAND CUP GAME.

Spectators should be treated to an interesting period of football at the local domain to-morrow afternoon, when three matches are set down for decision.

The principal attraction will be the Frink Poland Memorial Cup match between the Paeroa representatives and Wai hi. TIPs match should be an even contest and provide, plenty of interest.

In order to keep in form, the East anil West seniors will play a scratch match, against a fifteen representing the Pirates and Suburbs seniors. This match is timed to sta.rt at 2.30’p.m.

As a curtain-raiser to the representative game a trial match will be played between a Paeroa Primary School team tind a combined fifteen representing Hikutaia. Karangahake, and Nethcrton schools. PAEROA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was heldiQn Wednesday night, the chairman (Mr W. P. Pennell) presiding over Messrs M. Crosby. L. E ; . Shaw, J. Pinder, HTams, and Father J. T. Taylor. NOTICE OF MOTION. 'rhe notice of motion given by Mr Pinder with reference to the regrad'ng of J. Rackham was withdrawm. SUSPENSION OF PLAYER. Considerable discussion took place concerning; the suspension of J. McCollum, a Suburbs junior. A request was, received from the West club fcr the player concerned to play for his tea.m against West in the final game of tlie competition. Finally, on the motion of Mr Tams, seconded by Mr Shaw, it wa.s resolved to perm>t McCollum to play in the final game, but that he be debarred from taking part in the first game ininc knopk-out round. 1 Mr Pinder voted against: the pro-, posal. GIFT OF CUP. Information w;as received that a resident of Thames had offered to donate a cup to the union on the condition that he remained anonymous. It was decided to accept-the offe»r with grateful thanks, and that its allocation be held over until next season. J.-in the opin'on of Father Taylor it was a pity the donor dtesjred to 'remain anonymous, because such a, generous gift, especially from a r n outsider, was worthy of full recognition. TAURANGA TRIP. Advice was received from the Railway Department that the train leaving Tauraiiga for Paeroa on July 21 would be delayed, a-; requested by the union. Mr Pinder pointed out that the Thames Union was getting a special train to Tauraiiga and the department was charging only 7s 6d return. The chairman explained that a special concession was being given Thames because 'it had not yet had an excursion to Tauraiiga. whereas Paeroa I)ad bad two. The question of securing concession rates was left in the, hands of the chairman. On the motiop cf Father Taylor it was decided to ask the Tauraiiga union if it could arrange to commence the match at 2.30 p-m., in view of the early departure of the train. MATCH WITH WAIHI. The arr.angenie.nts for the Poland Cup match with Waihi to-morrow were discussed. Mr E. P. Fathers was appointed manager. In reply to Father Taylor the chairman said that it had not been the custom in tiie past to entertain the Waihi team to dinner at the conclusion of Poland Cup matches. In turn, the Paeroa team was not entertained by Waihi. Father Taylor thought that it was a pity, for the sake of a comparatively small expenditure, not to entertain the team. The friendliness and fraternal goodfellowship that such gatherings helped to engender were well worth while, and he moved that the manager be authorised to arrange for a dinner on Saturday night. Seconded by Mr Tams and carried. DONATION MADE. The president of the. Paeroa Ladies’ Hockey Cub waited' on the meeting, and asked if thet union could see its way to hand over the donation) promised to the club earlier in the season. In support of the request hp pointed l out that in the Piako representative team selected to go to Auckland to take part in the Country Week tournament. Paeroa had no

less than five players, and' money was required to defray a .portiop of the travelling expenses. On the motion of the chairmaji, seconded by Mr Tams, it was decided to congratulate the club on having live members selected, and to donate the sum of £5 5. PEACE CUP. . A letter was received from the Waikato Uoion. Hamilton, submitting September 29 as the date on which to play for the Peace Cup a.t Hamilton. THIRD-GRADE. In reply to a request from the Thames Valley Union it was 'resolved to send a third-grade team to Te Aroha to.moirow to play a curtainraiser to the Hauraki Plains-Piako match. Mr C. H. Vincent was appointed manager, with power to obtain yellow and black jersjeys for the players. KARANGAHAKE PLAYERS. After a brief discussion it was decided to ask the Thames Valley Union to call a special meeting for the purpose of settling, the matter of players at Karangahake. in the Paeroa union’s a.rea. playing for Waikino, under the Waihi union. SEATING ACCOMMODATION. . On the motion of Father Taylor it was resolved to endeavour to arrange for suitable seating accommodation at the domain for the rest of the season. Tlie chajrman and Mr Crosby were appointed to go into the question of permanent seating and to bring down a report at the next annual general meet'ng. GENERAL. A donation of £1 Is was received with, thanks from Mrs J. Corbett, Hikutaia. The Suburbs junior team was granted permission to play the Thames Physical Training team at Thames to-morrow. The secretary was appointed manager of the junior team to travel to Waihi to-morrow. It was resolved that any player failing to return his representative jersey to the official appointed, by the evening of the afternoon on which the match is played, be suspended until the garment is returned
