DISTRICT NEWS.
TURUA. THE TOWN BAND. The Turua Town Band i& making rapid progress, and members are being enrolled as fast as instruments are secured!, Since its reorganisation a short time ago £BO worth of instruments have been acquired. At the last stock sale £27 was secured for cattle and pigs donated to the band, and it is anticipated that the ba.nd’s indebtedness will be considerably reduced as the result of another stock drive to the next sale.
