TE AROHA DEFEATS PAEROA. TEAM SELECTED FOR AUCKLAND. The semi-final games in the Piako Hockey Associaton’s competitor! were played on Saturday afternoon, in fine 'weather. The Paeroa ladies’ A team travelled to eT Arolia, where it. was defeated by the home side by two goals to nil after a’hard and fairly even contest. Misses Goldsbury and G> Harvey netted 1 the goals for the winners. ’ Messrs Ward and Mahon were referees. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. At the conclusion of Saturday’s games the selectors met ,and chose tlie following team to represent. Piako in the Country Week tournament, to be held at Auckland commencing on Monday next: — Goal-keeper, Miss P. Treanor (Paeroa) ; backs, Miss N. Finnic (Paeroa). and Mrs Ward (Te Aroha) ; half ' backs, Misses E. Bell (Paeroa), Hooper (Te Aroha), 'Cooper (Te Arolia) ; forwards, Misses G. Harvey (Te Aroha), M. Hartley (Paeroa), V. Shand (Paeroa), Mirs Goldsbury (Te Aroha), Mrs M. Margison (Te Aroha). Emergencies: Misses P. Pivott, A. O’Neil, and E. Brown, .all of Paeroa. Mr J. Hastie (Morrinsville) will travel .with the team as managerMiss Shand was elected captain and Mrs Ward deputy .captain.
