SCHOOL EXCURSIONS.

VISIT TO WAIKATO WINTER SHOW . “ NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.” The advantages of taking school children to the Waikato Winter Sho.w are lightly esteemed by Mr -Merrington, headmaster of the Te Ar,ob.a District, High School, who gave the school committee the. benefit of his recent experience. Out of a, roll number of 476, 180 were taken to the show, and after full consideration he did not think it was worth the trouble;' At no time during the day were more than 1.2 children in any part of the building other than where the side-shows were. The children had been carefully organised on the train, the hoys and gfols being kept separate, and this had proved highly satisfactory going to Hamilton. Returning, however, he was very disappointed at the .way 'in which the railway officials had interfered, with the organisation. The children had been marshalled so that they could board the train in an orderly manner, but there was much confusion when the train started, .and it was some ittle time before the children could settle down.
