PAEROA A. BEATS' KEREPEEHI A.

KEREPEEHI BEATS PAEROA B.

On Saturday afternoon the Paeroa l.ad|ies’ A team defeated the Kerepeehi ladies’ A team by two goals to nil after a fast ami interesting game. From the bully-off the Paeroa forwards set up an attack and took the ball into the circle, where tight play resulted in Miss V. Shand netting the ball. The Kerepeehi’ team was kept on the defensive until half-time.

On resuming after the spell play was fairly even until Miss C. Swann broke thiough from near the halfway line and took the ball into the visitors’ circle before passing with a hard hit. Miss P. Pivott. fielded the ball well, and shot a good goal from a handy position. The game ended with play in Paeroa’s half without any further score being added.

The Rev. W. G. H. Weadon and Mr. L. Mahon were referees.

The Paeroa B team followed on, and defeated by the Kerepeehi B team by three goa,ls to nil. Although the local eleven has improved considerably, the visitors showed good combination and made few mistakes when the ball came their way. Misses D. Courtney, G. Thompson, and N. Hapill shot the goals for the winners.

The Rev. W. G. H. Weadon and Mr L. Mahon aso refereed this match.

LAST SATURDAY’S RESULTS.

The Hauraki Plains.- Ladies’ Hockey Association’s competition, was continued on Saturday in dull weather. At Ngatea the High School - team and Kopuar.-hi A team drew with three goals each. Miss K. McKerchar scored the thr.ee for Ngatea School, while Misses Ethel Candy. Edna Candy, and S. Hudson netted goals for Kopuarahi A. For Waitakaruru Miss M. Beaver, scored the only two goals in the Waitakaruru v. Ngatea, a.nd Misses A. Miller and E. Small, of the Kopvarahi B team, were the only scorers in the match against. Turua. THE MEN. In the first, matches of the HaurakiThames Association’s competition the Kopuarahi men beat the Thames Colts by five goals to one, and Thames beat Ngatea by six to four.
