BIG OIL MOVE.
NEW AUSTRALIAN COMPANY. CAPITAL OF £2,600,000. According to advices received by the last Sydney mail a new company, Australian Oil Industries, Ltd., has been formed in Sydney with a nominfljl capital of £2,600,000 to exploit the oil business in the Commonwealth, Since the Roma field was reopened in 1926 there has been a considerable interest in oil shares,, and a company known as Builders’, Limited, was formed, apparently with the intention of becoming a holding organisation for other companies to be formed subsequently. It is now considered that there is a connection between the activites of Builders’, Ltd., and the registration of Australian OH Industries, Ltd. Builders’ shares of £l, paid only to 2 s 6d, could not be bought ten days ago at 27s 6d a share. Among the subscribers to- Australian OU Industries Ltd., are : Sir Graham Waddell, Sir Samuel Horden, Sir Keith Smith, and Sir William Vicars. The formation of this company, described as “the biggest o : l move in Australian history.” is said to have taken the local financial world by surprise.
