Owing to Monday, June 4, being observed. as the King’s birthday, there will, te no publication of the “Hauraki Plajns Gazette” on that day.

Sunday next, Trinity Sunday, the festival which ends what is known as the festival half of the ecclesiastical year, will, be observed with special services at St. Pa,ul’s Church, Tfiere will ,be Holy Communion at 8 a.m., choral Eucharist at 11, sung to Stammer’s setting, and sermon.; festal evensong and sermon at 7 p.m., the Magnificat and Nuncdimittis being la,ken to Bunnett in A.

It is difficult for an outsider to gauge the position which obtains in Wa’takaruru in regard to the proposal to build a dairy factory in the district. It appears that when the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co.’s'proposal to build a cheese factory failed on accoupt of only about, half the required number of cows being guaranteed’ a. section of the settlers took up the question of a casein factory, which would only cost approximately £2500. Opposition wa.s voiced in certain quarters, but the advocates are still confident of the success of their project and are now securing signatures from intending suppliers. They do not propose to permit suppliers to come in during future seasons unless they contribute to the capital cost equally with the foundation members.
