Walton thanked the members for the, confidence again shown in him. He was of opinion that Cr. •Madgwick had hit the nail on the head in saying that he wias the, youngest member and required experience. He had no doubt that he was gaining experience, as the job was almost a daily one. A chairman got the kicks from the whole county as well as from his ; own riding. s Cr. Walton intimated that he fcd not intend to seek re-election to the council at the end of his term in 12 months’ time, as he found the work to pe too, much for a man who had to earn his ijving. The prospect of giving up was not a pleasant one, for, ■his relationship with the members and staff had always been cordial. He hoped! that in the coming year they would continue to be the same happy band.
