A POPULAR MANAGER.
FUNCTION AT PAEROA FACTORY. PRESENTATION TO MR. MORRISAt the conclusion of work on Friday afternoon the staff of the N.Z. Cooperative Dairy Company’s Paeroa butter factory assembled in the packing room to make a presentation to their, manager, Mr L. V. Morris, on thci eve of his marriage. Mr P. Mill, first assistant, presided, and in a happy speech referred to the fact that during the. laisjt five-years that Mr Morris had been manager at Paeroa he had warned the. highest esr teem and respect of all with whom he had come in contact. In diis position as manager, with its attendant responsibilities, he- had always shown the utmost consideration for his staff, which felt that it could not let so 1 important an occasion as his marriage pass without some tangible recognition.
On behalf of the factory staff, dairy instructors (Messrs E. Roberts and H. Dale), and cartage contractors (Messrs Mitchell, Newland, R. Gibson, P. Roach. C. Stembridge, A. Morrison, and W. Harold), MT Mill caUed on Mr, Morris to accept a silver teapot, sugar basin, cream jug. and takestand- with •,all possible good wishes for health, good fortune, and happiness, throughout his married life.
When afternoon tea had been partaken of Mr J. A. Mitchcill ably proposed the toast of the bride-elect and Mr 'Mojris. He referred to the fact that thejr guest was marrying. a popular ex-memboir of the Paeroa staff in tile person, of Mies I. -McKenna, and on behalf of those present he wished them every happiness and good luck in.tliei future, and expressed the hope that they would be spared to celebrate their silver and golden wedding days. In thanking the staff on. bcliaUf, of Miss McKenna and himself for their presentation, and good wishes 'Mr Morris assured them tiiat tha gift would be highly treasured by them both, and it would prove most useful dluijing tlieir married life. It had been his pleasure to control a loyal and effi; cicnt staff, and anything that he had been able to do had bee nt- a pleasure an-d well deserved. He was deeply grateful to all who had contributed, and in conclusion, he wished them all good luck for the future.
