PRESENTATION.

The oppontunity was taken by a large gathering of members of the Paeroa Basketball Association on Saturday afternoon last to make a presentation to Miss Q. M. Tkylor on the eve of her marriage. The afternoon was happily spent in games and competitions, aind during the afternoon the association’s preS|ide.nt (Mr C. H. Pascoe.) called upon Miss Taylor to accept a canteen of cutlery. In making tha presentation the pres’dent referred to the enthusiastic and capable manner in which Miss Taylor had carried out the duties of secretary since the formation of the association. Her loss would be a serious one, and it was the desire of the members' to give something tangible in recognition of her services and also ,ais; proof of their love and esteem for her. On behalf of the members he wished her long life, good health, and every happiness during her marr. ! e.d life. On behalf of his daughter Mr-G. H. Taylor suitably acknowledged the gift, whichhe said, would fine! aw hon.our.edl place in her new home. Although leaving Paeroa, she wouTd coiiiti'iiue to follow the activities of the association, and a hearty invitation was expended to the members to visit her at her new home at Point Chevalier, Auckland.
