PLUNKET SOCIETY.
THE NGATEA BRANCH; ANNUAL MEETING. A satisfactory year’s working was disclosed at the fourth annual meeting of. the Ngatea branch of the Blanket Society, which was held in Mr EL. Walton’s room on. Thursday afternoon last. There were 18 members present, and Mrs W. G. Hayward presided.
The officers: re-elected for another year were : President, Mrs W. G. Hayward ; vicerpresidents, Mesdames McCarthy and McDuff; committee, Mesdames Dudding, Irwin, Coppins, McTaggart, and Vow/les ; advisory b.oard, Messrs Hayward., Foster, Waite, Motion* Wylde, and Walton.
The annual report stated that the number of visits of mothers and babies to the consulting room had again shown an increase. One, mother and baby had been, admitted to the Karitane Hospital, Auckland, with satisfactory results. Appreciation: was expressed for donations received from local residents towards the branch’s quota fpr the nurse’s car, arid to Mesdames Hayward, Coppins, Paul, and McDuff, Who had arranged and ably carried out a social for the same purpose. The report concluded with an expression of thanks aind appreciation of the work of Nurse Perrin and an expression of sympathy with her in her recent indisposition 1 .
The balance-sheet showed a credit of £27 3s Id.
