Public Notices. HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR QU Al-GY PURPOSES. TVTOTICE is hereby given that -Ll it is proposed under the provisions of “ The Public Works Act, 1908,” and its amendments;, by the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of Hauraki Plains (being a body, corporate known as the Hauraki Plains County Council) to undertake and execute a public work, namely a Quarry Reserve in Block Five of the Waitoa Survey District, and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Hauraki Plains County Council at Ngatea, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during: ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the exe-. cution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and must send the same within forty days from the twenty-eighth day of March, 1928, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the said County Council at the office of the clerk thereof at Ngatea aforesaid. £ > o W K 2, ® g. DAY EXCURSION THAMES AND WAIHI TO WAITOMQ CAVES. ON SUNDAY, 22nd APRIL, special excursion train connecting with motor buses to and from Waitomo Caves leaves Thames 8.40 a.m., Paeroa 9.36, arriving Hangatiki 12.40 p.m. Connecting train leaves Waihi for Paeroa at 8.45 a.m., Waikino 8.58 a.m. Return train leaves Hangatiki 6.15 p.m., Paeroa 9.19, and arrives Thames 10.12 p.m. Connecting train leaves Paeroa 9.20 p.m. and arrives Waihi 10.15 p.m. . These trains stop if required for passengers at all stations ThamesWaihi to Frankton inclusive. CHEAP EXCURSION TICKETS will be issued to Hangatiki from Thames, Waihi, Frankton, and intermediate stations in conjunction with a special ticket (adult 13/6, child 7/-) covering return motor trip Hangatiki to Waitomo and guide fees for viewing three Caves. The rail tickets will be available only by above special trains and are not available for break of journey. RETURN FARES (rail journey only) : From Paeroa, Second 8/6, first 12/6. Each passenger for Hangatiki will require to purchase in addition to rail ticket, the special ticket embracing the return mor tor journey and guide fee. Excursionists can obtain hot water at Waitomo. Refreshment rooms at Frankton will be open on both outward and return journeys. Free passes, season and commutation tickets (reporters’ and passes held by members of the Legislature excepted) will not be available by above trains. Stock Sales. WAIHUU STOCK SALE.
