HOCKEY.

HAURAKI PLAINS MOVEMENT. MEN’S CLUB FORMED. A mem’s hockey club was formed at Ngatea at a meeting attended by nine persons last evening. Mr J. E. Reid was elected president, the Rev. E. R. Alexander vicerpresident, and Mr D. Elliott secretary and treasurer. These men, together with Messrs K. Clare, J. Shaw, and M. Canning, will form the committee. It .was reported that it was probable that clubs would be formed in Kopuara<hi, Kerepeehi, and kaihere, and the secretary was instructed to get into touch with tlie enthusiasts in those districts with the, idea of speeding ur> the formation of the clubs so that a competition could be arranged. A tally of, probable members showed that there were over 20 likely players about Ngatea. T.llO membership fee was fixed at ss, and it was decided that players must provide their own sticks.
