HAURAKI PLAINS GROUPS.

AVERAGES FOR FEBRUARY.

The following return of averages for tlie month of February last for the Hauraki Plains groups has been received from the N.Z. Co>opera.tive Herd Testing Association, Hamilton : Netherton Group.—The highest herd, with 59 cows, averaged. 3D.251b fat ;and the lowest herd, with: 45 cows, averageil 15.511 b fat. The. highest cow In the group produced 58.6'51b fat and the lowest cow 2.221 b fat. Ngatea Group.—The highest herd, with 80 cows, averaged 27.971 b fat, and the lowest herd, with 55 cows, averaged 19.571 b fat. The highest cow in the group produced 58.951 b fat, anil- the lowest cow 4.091 b fat. Patetonga Group.—The highest herd, with 41 cows, averaged 27.421. b fat, and the lowest herd with 36 cows, averaged 13.071 b fat. The highest cow produced 51.971 b fat, and tlie lowest cow 5.401 b fat.

Shelly Beach Group.—The highest herd, with 73 cows, averaged 26.341 b fat, anil' tlie lowest herd, with 40 cows avoiraged 20.441 b fat. The highest cow in the group produced 39.481 b fat, and the lowest cow 6.881 b fat. Turua Group.—The -highest herd, with 24 -cows, averaged 35.381 b fat, and the lowest herd, with. 22 cows, averaged 20.441 b fat. The highest cow produced 49.02'1b fat and. the lowest 3.601 b fat. ' Waitakaruru Group.—The highest herd, with 21 cowts, averaged 32.131 b fat, and tliei lowest herd, with 32 cows, averaged 17.151 b fat. The highest cows produced 58.591 b fat, and the lowest cow 4.861 b fat. AM the above records are for a full 31 days’ period, and represent the production of all cows in milk. The average for 63,887 cows tested in February was 4571 b milk, 4.4 test, 20.391 b fat.
